Pierre Roman
and the whale on the beachA poetic circus performance that takes you on a journey through the life of a white clown.
With Pierre Roman, and the whale on the beach, Ralph Öllinger brings a recognizable circus character from the past back to life. Times are changing at a rapid pace. The white clown, from the classic circus of yesterday has been lost in the modern world and is looking to restore his status. His characteristic way of moving in combination with juggling and object manipulation make for a fascinating performance. The white clown provides memories of the past, a moment of relaxation and builds a bridge to the here and now.Ralph Öllinger graduated from Codarts circus arts 2016 and then obtained a Master’s degree in choreography
at the Fontysin Tilburg and Codarts Rotterdam, with a focus on interactive performances. Here he also met choreographer
Joost Vrouenraets with which he collaborated for this project.Coproduction by Circusstad Festival
Duration: 40 minutes.
